Nusa Lembongan Island for Your Holiday
A small island between Nusa Penida and Bali in Badung Strait namely Nusa Lembongan Island is the great vacation hideaway with pristine unspoiled beaches and few visitors. A low, protected island within 11 kilometers southeast of mainland Bali, calculating just four through three kilometers surrounded by palms, white sandy beaches and mangroves swamps around. Inland terrain is very dry and scrubby, with processions avenues and volcanic stone walls moving through the small hill covered with cactus. Backpackers and surfers hang out in latter, 150 per month, with an average survival of 3-5 days. Jungut Batu offers water sports opportunities and best accommodation island. There is motorcycle traffic between two villages and it is very easy to get a ride. Both villages are involved in seaweed cultivation. Before the government supported commercial production of seafood in 1980, the island people lived in the cassava, tubers, nuts, peanuts and maize. Today most of people included in either one way or another with the sea vegetables cultivation and permeated the air with its smell.
Visit the gardens of seaweed at low tide; it looks like the giant underwater botanical garden. Two types are grown, green Kotoni and the small red. Almost the overall plant is often exported to Hong Kong to use in the food and cosmetics industries. After the harvest, gatherers leave the floating offer flowers and rice which gently drift away in the tide. Nusa Lembongan life is very comfortable, with a cold wind, no big hotels, little traffic, no stress, no filming, no pollution and almost no phone. Best of all, almost no traders and some thieves. Jungut Batu’s tree house bungalows style with accommodations with wooden furniture, sand floor restaurant , offices, outdoor open air are reminding of Kuta Beach in 20 years ago. The plants are meager, and the just available fruit is melon. All the other food comes from market in Denpasar or the neighboring island of Nusa Pineda.
